What does Public Safety mean to you?Brant MP Phil McColeman is pleased to announce the launch of his Second Annual Public Safety Scholarship Essay Contest on Monday March 29th, 2010. This contest is open to all students who are residents of Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations and the Mississauga’s of the New Credit First Nation, who are presently attending a local high school. The contest is in partnership and sponsored by the Neziol Group. The prize for the first place essay is $500.00, which is aimed at assisting with the costs of the post-secondary education of the winning author.
- Participants are asked to submit a 500 word essay on a workable solution for making Brant a community that is safer from acts of vandalism and crime.
- The completed essay should be submitted to mccoleman.p@parl.gc.ca as an attachment
- Include a cover page with the theme of the essay and your contact information including name, address and telephone number
- The deadline for Essay Submissions will be May 7th, 2010
- The Announcement of the Winning Author will take place on May 19th, 2010, at the Brantford Police Station Community Room
Judging the submitted essays will be:

- Dr. Maria Cantalini-Williams, Director - Nipissing University Brantford Campus
- Patricia (Trish) Kings – Superintendent, Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board
