MP Phil McColeman Promotes Parks Canada Program to Brant Youth
May 20, 2010

(Brantford)
- Phil McColeman is encouraging grade eight students to visit Canada’s national parks and historic sites. The Member of Parliament for Brant is visiting some of the area’s classrooms this week to explain the My Parks Pass Program.

“Parks Canada is providing grade eight students with a twelve month pass that enables them free access to 27 national parks and 68 national historic sites,” said Mr. McColeman. “It’s a great opportunity for students to learn more about Canada’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.”

The My Parks Pass Program is part of the 125th anniversary of Canada’s national parks. More than 400,000 students across Canada are receiving passes this week, including approximately 1750 students in the riding of Brant.

The My Parks Pass is valid at Parks Canada administered national parks and natural historic sites only. Visit www.parkscanada.gc.ca for more information.
