Ottawa, Dec. 1/ Newly elected Brant MP Phil McColeman will be a member of the Standing Committees on Veterans Affairs, Public Safety and National Security.

``I`m looking forward to getting to work on these files.  Both Veterans Affairs and Public Safety are issues I and the Harper government take very seriously.``  McColeman said.

Joining McColeman on Public Safety and National Security will be retired Woodstock Police Chief and Parliamentary Secretary for Public Safety Dave Mackenzie of neighbouring Oxford riding.  Given McColeman`s past experience as Vice Chair of the Brant Police Services Board the pair bring a wealth of experience to the committee.
