(Brantford) April 29, 2009– Brant M.P. Phil McColeman has launched his first Public Safety Scholarship Essay Contest. This contest is open to all Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations and New Credit residents currently attending a local high school. First prize is $500.00, and is aimed at assisting with the costs of post secondary education.
Any submitted essays should meet the following criteria; - The participants should submit a 500 word essay on a workable solution for making Brant a community that is safer from acts of vandalism and crime.
- The completed essay should be submitted to mccoleman.p@parl.gc.ca as an attachment and include a cover page with the theme of the essay and contact information including name, address and telephone number
The deadline for essay submissions is May 31st, 2009. The winner will be announced Saturday June 13th, 2009.Judging the contest: - Derek McElveny (Chief of Police, Brantford Police Services).
