MP McColeman & MPP Dave Levac Announce An Exciting Addition to Hockey Night in Brantford
Hockey Night in Brantford is going out with a bang!
This morning, MP Phil McColeman and MPP Dave Levac announced the addition of a live and silent auction to kick off HNIB’s final year of celebration! The auction will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 7 P.M. at the Brantford Golf and Country Club, with an opportunity to preview the items at 6 P.M. Some of the items up for bid include signed Wayne Gretzky memorabilia, a signed Bobby Orr Boston Bruins jersey, a handcrafted “Blue-Winged Teal Drake,” among others!
All proceeds from the auction will support the Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Volunteerism.
‘The Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Volunteerism seeks to recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions to our community through volunteerism during the course of their lifetime. The award is presented annually to a maximum of four residents from Brant County, the City of Brantford, Six Nations of the Grand River Territory and the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, and a legacy fund administered by the Brant Community Foundation is established in the name of each recipient. The Auction Committee is proud to support such a worthy cause as this award.’
“I was excited when Dave brought the idea of the auction to our Hockey Night in Brantford Committee. It’s a welcome addition to the event and provides an opportunity to generate more dollars that will go back into our community through the Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Volunteerism.”
— MP Phil McColeman
“As co-founder of the Lifetime Achievement Award Committee, I am honoured to be a part of MP Phil McColeman’s Hockey Night in Brantford. The importance of volunteerism cannot be measured and needs to be celebrated.”
— MPP Dave Levac
“Our Award Committee is incredibly proud and excited to be associated with, and beneficiary of Hockey Night in Brantford. The proceeds raised through their silent and live auctions will go a very long way in establishing Legacy Funds (administered through the Brant Community Foundation) in honour of our future lifetime achievement award recipients.”
— Derek Bond, Lifetime Achievement Award Chair
