(Brantford) - Phil McColeman, Member of Parliament for Brant, is hosting an Economic Consultation Roundtable on February 4, 2011.
Topics for discussion will be how the Federal Government can create more jobs and promote economic growth as it proceeds with the next phase of Canada’s Economic Action Plan.
“The economy remains our number one priority,” said Mr. McColeman. “Our Government will continue to focus on job creation, retirement savings for seniors, and the financial security of all Canadians.”
Invitations have been extended to local business, labour leaders, community stakeholders, post secondary institutions and local politicians.
Mr. McColeman’s roundtable is one of more than 150 economic consultations being held across the country by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Conservative government. “I want to hear from our community on economic policies that our Government should adopt as part of the next phase of Canada’s Economic Action Plan and how specific policies will affect our area” said Mr. McColeman.
Launched in 2009, Canada’s Economic Action Plan has contributed to the creation of more than 440,000 new jobs and helped Canada emerge from the global economic crisis faster and stronger than most other major industrialized countries around the world.
“It is clear that Canada’s Economic Action Plan is working,” said Mr. McColeman. “It has created jobs and provided financial security to Canadian families through the worst global recession since the Second World War.”
Mr. McColeman’s Economic Consultation Roundtable will be held February 4, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Hampton Inn, 20 Fenridge Court, Brantford.
