Paris, Ontario – The Paris Agricultural Society has received $6,600 from the federal government for its 153rd annual edition of the Paris Fair. Brant MP, Phil McColeman, made the announcement today on behalf of The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
“The Paris Fair is a community celebration steeped in tradition and history,” said Mr. McColeman. “This year, organizers have added several new dimensions to the festivities for the thousands who will attend to celebrate the rural way of life.”
The Government of Canada’s contribution is through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program. Created in 2007, this program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in local activities that present arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
The Paris Fair is a five day event that runs from September 1-5, 2011. This year`s celebrations promise to be memorable, with the fair having entered a partnership with the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA`s) that will bring top Canadian Country Music artists to headline the Paris Fair Fanfest concert on September 4th. Those who purchase tickets for premium seating will be entered into a draw for a trip to the 100th annual Calgary Stampede thanks to a marketing partnership between the Paris Fair and the Stampede.
