Ottawa - Brant MP Phil McColeman has been appointed to the Standing Committees on Industry, Science and Technology (INDU) and Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (HUMA), and has been re-elected as Vice Chair of the Post-Secondary Education Caucus.
With an extensive background in business and industry where he owned and operated property development and construction companies, in addition to serving as the President for both the Brantford and Ontario Home Builders Association, Mr. McColeman is well suited for the INDU committee.

“I’m eager to put my business experience and knowledge to work as an effective member of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology” said McColeman.
As a former Director and President of Lansdowne Children’s Centre, Mr. McColeman is looking forward to playing a more active role in dealing with issues involving individuals with disabilities on the HUMA committee.

“These are issues that I feel passionate about and I’m excited at the prospect of working towards positive changes for individuals with disabilities.”
Phil McColeman, who is a former Governor of Laurier University and fervent supporter of the growth of post-secondary institutions in Brant, is pleased to have also been re-elected as Vice Chair of the Conservative Post-Secondary Education Caucus at its first post-election meeting this past week.

“Education is the key to a healthy and prosperous future for all Canadians, and post-secondary institutions are quickly becoming the primary economic drivers in Brant” said McColeman. “I look forward to utilizing my role as Vice Chair of the Post-Secondary Education Caucus to help enhance post secondary in Brant and across Canada.”
